FOUNDERS
Dave & Barb Anderson
Dave and Barb Anderson have dedicated their lives to ministry, combining music, counseling, and personal testimony to serve others. In 1975, they founded Fellowship Ministries, through which they have conducted over 5,600 worship concerts and services across the United States and internationally. Their musical journey has taken them to countries including Russia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Australia, where they have shared their faith through a blend of contemporary and traditional Christian music. Notably, they were featured singers at a Billy Graham Crusade, an experience they cherish deeply.
In August 1993, during a return flight from a mission in Russia's Far East, Dave and Barb's plane crashed into the Bering Sea after running out of fuel. They, along with five others, survived in 36-degree waters for nearly an hour before being rescued in what has been described as one of the most dramatic air/sea rescues in history. This harrowing experience has been featured in various publications and broadcasts, including Guideposts, The Lutheran, and The 700 Club.
Following this life-altering event, the Andersons expanded their ministry to address the emotional and spiritual needs of church workers. In 2007, they established Shepherd's Canyon Retreat, a specialized counseling center located in Arizona, designed to provide support for burned-out and emotionally wounded church workers and their spouses. Since its inception, the retreat has served hundreds of clients from across the globe, offering them a place of healing and restoration.
Throughout their journey, Dave and Barb have exemplified resilience and faith, using their experiences to inspire and assist others in their spiritual and personal lives.
